A Dental Hygienist can come to you no matter where you live. Studies show a strong correlation between gum disease and other diseases including pneumonia, diabetes, and heart disease. Quite simply, infections that start in your mouth can spread to other parts of your body. Regular dental hygiene services may:
- Enhance oral health and prevent tooth loss
- Minimize the effects of gum disease
- Routine checks for early stages of oral cancer
- Protect physical health/Increase quality of life
Since our aging population is more prone to systemic disease, it’s more important than ever to keep the mouth clean and healthy. We are happy to coordinate care with patient’s dentist, nurse and physician. After each dental hygiene appointment, a report will be sent to you and your dentist.
Exams
- Intial oral exam
- Follow-up oral exam
- Detect early stages of oral cancer (Complimentary)
- Periodontal exam (Complimentary)
An annual examination with the patient’s dentist is highly recommended.
Cleanings
- Regular cleaning (Adult Prophylaxis) - OR -
- Deeper cleaning (Full Mouth Debridement, Root Planing and Scaling, Periodontal Maintenance)
– The type of “cleaning” will be decided during initial exam
– Both hand instruments & ultrasonics may be used to clean teeth - Fluoride application
- Denture / Partial Cleaning
